Greetings!
The Centaur MC is looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend 2023!
In preparation for welcome everyone, there are a few important updates that we need to share.
First and foremost, the Hyatt Regency is in the process of refurbishing their elevators. The process started a few months ago, and while they had hoped to have this completed well in advance of our event, unfortunately that was not the case and this process will continue during the MAL weekend.
Refurbishment will only affect one of the four elevators on the north side and one of the three elevators on the south side. The elevator that provides access to the street will be unavailable during the weekend, thus we are having to make adjustments in order to accommodate getting bags in and out of the hotel. If you are unable to carry all of your luggage in yourself, the Hyatt will have staff outside to provide instructions on how they will be collecting your luggage and delivering them to your room. Please know that especially on Friday this process may take some time and ask for your patience with the staff as they work to deliver everything as quickly as possible.
We apologize in advance, but we are working with the Hyatt to make this as seamless and unobtrusive as possible.
As in previous years, the Hyatt will have attendants on the elevators at various times of the day and evening controlling stops on floors.
Two of the elevators on the north side will stop on higher floors and one elevator will stop on the lower floors. The two elevators on the south side will be operated in similar fashion.
To help alleviate some issues and control wait times for the elevators, whenever possible the hotel is encouraging guests to use the stairs between the upper floors to move from floor to floor. (Please note that there are no stairs that exit into the lobby since the lobby is below ground).
Also as a reminder, to access the guest room floors you must be a registered Hyatt Regency Washington guest and/or accompany a registered Hyatt Regency Washington guest ( 1 nonregistered guest per 1 registered Hyatt Regency Washington guest ).
In the event of overcrowding the hotel will then limit elevators to only Hyatt Regency Washington guests
Thank you for your patience and understanding and ask that everyone remember throughout the weekend that manners and respect go a long way. Enjoy the weekend.
